He adored the little things she did.

The way her brow twitched when she was perplexed by what was just said, how she got frustrated if even the slightest detail got out of line. How she cared for others around her, yet… she seemed hesitant. Even though she was surrounded by so many who care for her, she was lonely.

He tried to see what kept her agitated for so long. For a moment, she almost brought it up, but she held back and bit her lip. He tried coaxing, playing innocent, acting dumb to amuse her. Through all the efforts, no matter how hard he tried, not a word came out of her.

At times, she wanted everyone to leave her alone, including himself. Her optics leered at him, indicating that she was not generous of giving second chances. Somehow through the snarls and the glares, he felt she didn't want him to leave. An invisible anchor latched him on to her side, and he knew he couldn't leave her either.

If he left her side… there would be no one for her to expect at the end of the day. She was broken. Scared and torn after so many years of fighting. Shattered into a million pieces for so long… and he would put the pieces back together.

He would wait a lifetime to make her whole again. No matter how long it took.

"Why are you doing this?" she sobbed, barely having the strength to stand. "Why are you always still here with me, even though I give out nothing but scrap? Why do you have to be so… so, so scrapping wonderful?"

He kissed her brow, leaning closer into her as she tried to suppress drops of lubricant. For a femme who was always tough and didn't break face, she could act like a sparkling in two seconds flat when no one was looking.

"Because I love you…" he whispered as he muzzled through her helm.

She finally broke the silence.

"Will… will you leave me?"

He tightened his embrace, making sure she listened closely.

"I'll wait; I'll give you what you need…" he began. "Don't be afraid… I'm here. I'm here…!"

They were mighty titans. Decades meant nothing at all with their massive lifespans. All he wanted was for her to smile again.

No matter if it took a lifetime.

Just thinking about how long Cybertronians live, drinking Asian tea and gingy snaps, and watching wayyyy too many Doctor Who tributes on YouTube got me writing this. Especially with A Thousand Years, it would fit any life forms who live that long, especially Cybertronians. Hope you found that connection!

Happy Christmas, and have an epic 20-12!

Pace!

XOXO
